The Village

The Village boasts an upmarket shopping district offering visitors all the retail options of a small town. There are two excellent coffee roasteries - Hawthorne Coffee on Napier Road and Bay Expresso which have cafes in the Village and Hastings.

Cycling

Havelock North has access to many safe cycleways and pathways. The extensive Rotary Pathway can be accessed by River Road and the cyclist can venture for kilometers along the Tukituki River to the coastal link that goes to Napier and beyond.

Te Mata Peak

Drive, bike or walk to the top of Te Mata Peak which stands 400 metres above sea level and offers stuning 360 degree views of Hawke's Bay. Visit the world's largest mainland Gannet colony. Options for getting there include travelling overland by 4WD or along the beach on a family fun tractor ride.

Fishing / Trout Fishing

Havelock North and Hawke's Bay offer a huge range of different types of fishing. The Tukituki River is the most frequently fished and accessible river in the Hawke's Bay Region providing over 300km of highly productive water. Fishing at sea out from Napier and off the Wharf can be truly exciting for any fisherman young or old.

Farmers Market

A market day every Saturday during the summer months November to March at the Black Barn Vinyards venue. The producers of quality foods sell their wares to the public. From beautiful syrups, meats, vegetables, fruit, cheeses, and breads the shopper is treated cuisine at its best. There is also a Sunday Farmers Market at the showgrounds.

Visit Napier
